For Bordeaux, the 2009 vintage is widely regarded as legendary.
The year produced excellent wines across the board.
The reds are lavish and grand and widely considered legendary. The wines tend to be big, bold, luxuriant and rich, but still sophisticated, with many surprisingly approachable in youth. Most reds will be drinking exceptionally well now, with the best likely to cellar for decades more.
We selected four wines created by exceptional producers from Saint Emilion, Graves, Pauillac and Saint Estephe, rated with 100 points by Robert Parker. Apart from Chateau Troplong Mondot, vintage 2005 (in Saint Emilion there were less favorable conditions in 2009), all come from the 2009 vintage.
In addition to these, for a memorable evening, we also introduced two great wines from New World wines into the tasting and we will open, of course, with Champagne.
Ileana Braniște will match the four wines with four dishes from the areas of origin.
Just like the wines, places are limited, so reservations are mandatory.
